Niti Valley Village Tour Uttarakhand
Niti Valley is Valley in Garhwal Himalayan Mountains near Joshimath. The valley is eastern side of Mana Valley near Badrinath. Niti Valley is at approx 3500 mtrs altitude. Valley is named after Niti Village. Niti village is surrounded by Niti Pass (on north) and Tibet (on south). Niti Village has population of approx 35 people mostly old age. Niti Village is part of Chamoli District of Uttarakhand.
Due to high altitude at Niti Valley the winter season is here is hard here. Lot of snow makes hard to live in Niti Valley during winter after october till march. Due to that most residents leave the Niti Valley during winter and come back in April. Migration is also face migration issue which is common in most high altitude areas of this region. Farming is major income. Rajma (Kidney Beans) grown in Niti Valey is popular in nearby areas.
Niti and Mana Pass were used before 1962 for trading between India Tibet. Good amount of Tibetan people migrated in India from tibet due to war. Locally known as Rongpa or Bhotiya.
Niti Valley Itinerary
Day 01: Rishikesh / Haridwar / Dehradun to Joshimath (08 hrs drive)Early Morning drive towards Joshimath. Visit Dev Prayag, Rudra Prayag, Karn Prayag and Nand Prayag. Check in to hotel. Night stay in Joshimath.
Day 02: Joshimath to Niti Village
Morning after breakfast visit Narsingh Temple and Shankaracharya Math. Drive towards Niti Village. Check in to home stay. Afternoon walk around village and learn about village. Night stay in Niti Village.
Day 03: Niti Valley
Morning after breakfast enjoy walk around area. Enjoy nature, meet people, learn about lifestyle. Night stay in Niti.
Day 04: Niti Village to Joshimath
Morning after breakfast check out. Transfer to Joshimath. After check in visit to Auli by cable car. Night stay in Auli.
Day 05: Joshimath to Rishikesh / Haridwar / Dehradun (7 hrs drive)
Morning after breakfast check out. Transfer to Rishikesh / Haridwar / Dehradun and drop.
